One lesson we should learn from Ukraine is that if a narcisstic leader calls another sovereign state "not a real country", this is not merely a sign of madness, it is a sign on an impeding landgrab. In Ukraine at the time nobody believed Putin would actually do it after he started is "Ukraine is not a real country" talking poitns, yet he did it.
@HamonWry the irony is if Trump went as far as a military invasion of Canada, the Canadian resistance would likely be getting supplied arms by either Russia or China. After all, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I'm betting that the current thawing of relations between US and Russia is temporary....it will last until Trump doesn't get his way.
