Human Rights victory

Iran abolished its morality police after the death of a woman they arrested over the strict Islamic dress code ignited months of protests.

The decision was a major victory for feminists who have sought for years to dismantle the morality police and for the protest movement sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini in the force's custody. NYTimes

"When the US state department recently told a court that the Saudi Arabian crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, should have immunity in a lawsuit over the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi... it pointed to a rogues’ gallery of foreign leaders previously afforded similar protection. This is an #India media landscape toot:

India's already very pro-corporate, pro-government media is about to get worse, as the world's third richest man, Gautam Adani, takes over one of the most prominent news outlets not already under the BJP's thumb

Going forward I think I'll be trying to limit myself to favoriting the types of posts that I agree with instead of boosting them. That's an acknowledgement that doesn't spread them further which feels appropriate to me. My goal here is to be more conscious about what I am promoting here in the #mastosphere.

One exception that I expect to make for this: support for marginalized communities. Human dignity should not be negotiable and neither should our support.
