Decided to cast on a new shawl. I've wanted to make this since I saw the pattern (I had bought the yarn about a week before and been wondering how to do it justice) and finally decided this is the time! Pattern is St Bees Shawl by Louise Tilbrook Designs. It will be coming to Eastercon with me! #Knitting #Eastercon
@RandomYarning nice! How do you ensure that the length of yarn is right and that the shawl will reproduce the full gradient of colours?
@brunogirin only because I've seen one made by the designer of the shawl I'm making who used the exactl same yarn but a different colourway, but with this type of shawl if you want to use the entire ball up you weigh the yarn as you go, and keep going intul you have just a bit more than one row left and use that to cast off. It can be very anxiety making and is called yarn chicken because you can misjudge and run out before you reach the end!
