In case anyone was wondering how much a #hipreplacement hurts, it's quite a lot. Quite a very lot (please excuse the slightly undignified photo, I am currently full of morphine)

Ye gods, this had best be worth it. Hip is pretty much as I expected but the knee is Very Ouch. They said it "might" be cos the leg is getting used to its new part and they weren't wrong

It turns out that the spinal block takes about 48 hours to fully leave the body and that's when the real pain starts. What jolly fun
Today I have mostly been feeling very sorry for myself interspersed with periods of OWOWOWOWOWFUCKINGOW and some light whimpering

@SpectacledLangr I had knee replacement surgery some time ago and really recommend as a patient the ice treatment they are so glib to recommend (on 20 minutes, off at least that much). May you feel better very soon.
