@SuneAuken Trump supporters taking themselves out of the gene pool, did you say? If only we were that lucky.
Indeed.
@SuneAuken
Don't you worry about rightwing marriages, conservatives have a 3-art plan for that:
1) force women into marriage by banning abortions (while making single parenthood unaffordable)
2) keep them there by limiting divorce and contraception
3) threat them with eternal damnation if they try and break the cycle
Literally speaking from my study in a vicarage: They can stuff point three. Does not apply.
Come to think of it, they can stuff point one and two, too.
Never give an inch to fascists. But you and I agree on that.
about 1 in 5 young singles will have little choice but to marry someone outside their ideological tribe. The other option is that they decline to get married at all — not an ideal outcome
duh. If us leftie girls are running out of left-wing men because all the guys love Trump (as the WaPo posits will happen), clearly the solution is polyamory. We can share the remaining non-rightwing men! Let the incels go extinct.
@amberage @SuneAuken It's funny that they consider being unmarried a "not ideal outcome" as if marrying some nazi pos who doesn't consider you to be human isn't substantially worse
Even on a purely intellectual level the disconnect is quite a sight.
@craftycat @SuneAuken it really has strong "take a nazi or you'll never get laid, bitch" vibes.
@SuneAuken Forget American women... I don't think I'd want to either LOL.
@SuneAuken @Howard
You just gave the answer to the question you presented. No one in their right mind would consider a partner that agrees with a monster. This monster separated children, infants from their mothers with no intention to reunite them. I can't forget those images and the sound of the children crying inconsolable. The desperation of parents trying to find them. That alone disqualifies a human from my circle.
@SuneAuken Let those bloodlines expire
As it is written. So it shall be.
@SuneAuken this isn't a phenomenon unique to the US.
In Germany the young males flock way more to the right wing AfD or libertarian FDP. Whilst young women more to the Greens and SPD.

Agreed. Not unknown in Europe either.
@SuneAuken (Republican men, apparently, are still willing to mate with anyone who will tolerate them)
At some point a large portion of these men will have to refer to themselves as Volcels rather than Incels.
True. Being a sexist pig can, indeed, not be feasibly characterized as "involontary". they could choose to see women as equals.
Also, they do seem to see themselves as the masters of their relationship so the actual feelings and convictions of their (subordinate) partners don't matter to them anyway.
The Washington Post is worried? Surely this is Darwinism in action Sune, and to be applauded. My worry is that there is a branch of human evolution in process at the moment which will have us headed in the direction of slime moulds.
Oh, this is good. Not being able to secure a spouse for reproduction is indeed Darminism in action. They are not evolutionary fit.
WaPo is not known for its fair criticism of right-wing ideology. I fail to understand why this reporter expected the Post to spell out what's abhorrent to women in its readers' beliefs...
@SuneAuken As a woman who didn't end up finding someone (wasn't willing to marry a bigot) I have zero regrets.
@SuneAuken Fabulous:
“If the institution of marriage is in trouble in this country it’s because so many men inadvertently revealed to women exactly what they stood for when they pulled the lever for Donald Trump. Perhaps the greatest irony of all is that those same religious-based “think tanks” that the Post cites—all of whom supported Trump in the first place—have only themselves to blame for the destruction of an institution they claim to revere.”
Exactly. What does it tell you about a potential husband that he opposes your right to your own body, but idolizes a serial adulterer and rapist?
It's flabbergasting - and fundamentally an expression of bad faith - that this question doesn not appear relevant to WaPo.
@SuneAuken Interesting. It's a little hard to get if any science is supporting this view. Does it matter on any significant scale? And maybe more interestingly - is the same going on elsewhere? Does a political no-love-zone apply for example in Denmark/Scandinavia/Europe (where I live)? Or in other parts of the world? #nolovezones #thegreatdivide.#politicaldivide
