@davidho I will never go the US again. I'm just 1/2 fr from the Washington border. I used to travel for concerts, holidays but never again.
I grieve for people taken by ICE who don't have family or friends able to advocate them, to go to the media, to search for them - how many people are lost or just disappear? It's horrific.
@davidho Yeah. A friend of mine was supposed to come to San Francisco for an award next week, but cancelled travel plans over concern for safety.

I visited my sister and her family to meet my grand nephew last year in October. I told them I wanted to come visit them then, while I still had the chance. I told them, I was certain that if Trump was reelected, it would be the last time I’d see the States for a long time, if not ever. They thought I was being weird, but I had a feeling things like this might happen. Seeing it unfold, as I’d feared it would, is incredibly bleak and it makes me feel sad, angry, and sick.

Hate to tell you this, but not visiting the USA has been part of my generic, human rights centred view for decades. The USA have not suddenly become evil. What we're seeing now is the logical consequence of megalomania, self-aggrandisement, delusions of grandeur and vicious politics trying to break anyone who does not agree that the USA are the greatest nation on earth (a label, incidentally, that every other country attaches to its chest; its a bit like religious delusion, isn't it).
@davidho That's... literally what minorities (non-whites, etc) have been living for ages... why such a fuss now that it implies a white woman, I wonder?
Visit? Lately, living here is gettng pretty tough.
