Spider berry progress, Campanumoea lancifolia, 蜘蛛果

The “legs” of the “spiders” are turning purple. The berries are plumping out, whitening and are beginning to have dark purple veins. Eventually, they will be dark purple completely.

A bunch of spider berries hanging down from long stems from a leafy plant. The leaves are deeply veined lanceolate and grass green. The round berries are a pale green to almost white. A few have dark purple vertical veins. There are spiny long purple leaflets on the berry near the stem. The berries have dried brown flower petals still hanging from the ends of the berry. The plant is held up by a chicken wire cage. This is to protect the plant from bunny foraging.
