It's because going to a doctor there costs like $6. That's it. Mystery solved. Turns out people live longer if their 70th birthday isn't locked behind a pay wall.

Makes me think of the very recent death of a well known member of the furry community and owner of the largest art site of the community, Dragoneer.
He died from a preventable disease, because they wouldn't treat him. Why?
Because he still had open payments for an emergency he had earlier this year or late last year.
That is bullshit.
For profit healthcare is bullshit.
@jeffowski I've cut with one of my best friends lately, because of some ideological controversies, including one about healthcare. We're both emigrated but he is in Ireland while I'm in Germany.
He told me that his general practitioner costs him 70€ each visit. In Italy was for free, while in Germany is included in the insurance.
This is the issue: he told me that he pays and shuts up, because if he cannot, then he's a loser.
If you cannot afford a basic human right, are you the asshole?
