This falls into the "don't burn unsold Teslas" category: doing so allows Tesla to take cars' carrying/inventory-costs off the board while allowing them to get insurance money. Whereas, attacking already-bought cars does nothing to benefit Elmo/Tesla (why that fire at the one Tesla service-center was so glorious).

So many people are saying this. Nobody has ever seen so many people saying this.
I honestly cannot say this isn’t true.
Indeed I thought of this possible explanation of the Tesla-torching — propaganda value for trump/ musk and collecting insurance $$ for unmarketable cars that are sitting on the lots losing value daily.
Interestingly, despite being surrounded by cameras, no protesters have been apprehended for teslatorching yet.
