Take a trip back a few years and watch the movie Billy Jack. I saw it when it came out in theatres in '71.
There is so much in it that pertains with what is still going on in society today.
It's about the
#environment
#racism
#underdogs
#victims
#heroes
#injustice
and so much more.
It's easy to see the #Republican attitudes of the 70's and the similarities of today's #Republicans.
#Racism was as ugly then as it is now.
The changes we wanted never came true for us.
WTF happened?
@maddad
Not clear what happened.
My guess: Most folk found consuming shiny goods and services more attractive than leading a life that might have had them develop depth / a soul / a ethical livelihood / a social conscience/ political agency.
Seems that Trump lives by letting it all hang out, ballin' who-ever, going with his feelings, living by his own rules, fuckin' the system, calling no man master (well except Putin after Helsinki?), being the change?
The shadow of Billy Jack?
@maddad one of my favorite films!
@maddad heartbreaking movie
It was
It was a very powerful movie then and it still is all those things today.
I watch it once in a while and will never get tired of seeing it. Sometimes when watching it I think about where is our Billy Jack today, we need a heroic leader to save us from these animals that have stolen our democracy.
@maddad in Australia we have hero whistleblowers, all in prison. It's dangerous to be a hero.
thats so sad
