(It took a very long time for the other groups targeted by the Nazis to be recognized by Holocaust museums and it was very begrudgingly at first.) It's more than just documentation. It's not like we don't know about the atrocities of slavery either. It's also not unlike how the US gave refuge to Nazi scientists while pretending that eugenics was only something the Nazis did.
