Ended up taking about blue boxes in my surveillance class today, and
explaining that “long distance” calls cost extra was met with incredulous stares by many of the students.
I am, as I understand it, very old.

@paninid @ai6yr @mattblaze I had to look up who owns MapQuest these days and apparently it is a mysterious company that appears to be a portal to 1996. They also operate WebCrawler, MetaCrawler, Dogpile, HowStuffWorks, and answers.com.
