I don’t see why companies and even individuals don’t set up their own servers on #Mastodon. They’ll control their domains and it won’t cost anything.

I presume setting up a server is for IT people only? It might be easy, but I wouldn't know where to start. Or if it is even possible from a home internet connection. I guess hosted, would solve that. But it might be better to donate that cost to an existing instance.

#companies can set up their own #Mastodon servers. It is super simple and most companies have an IT departments.
If not, plenty of #freelancers (on platforms such as Fiverr, Guru, Upwork) and #volunteers out there who can help you for a very low price
