REMEMBER: Pierre Poilievre has been the Leader of the Official Opposition for 2.5 years. In those 2.5 years, Pierre Poilievre has lived in taxpayer-subsidized housing, i.e. Stornoway, plus a chauffeur, a chef, an entertainment budget, etc.—all subsidized by the taxpayer—but refuses to get his security clearance as the Leader of the Official Opposition.

CANADIANS NEED TO START ASKING WHY PIERRE POILIEVRE WANTS ALL THE PERKS/ENTITLEMENTS OF THE JOB, BUT NOT DO THE WORK!

@somecanuckchick if a federal employee need security clearance be refuses, they get fired.

But he never had a real job.

@somecanuckchick

Well, then my question would be,

"Is there something ugly that a security clearance background check might find in Pierre Poilievre's life?"

@murodegrizeco

This was a power play. For the last 3 years after recommendations from CSIS and others, it was decided by the (previous) PM that all leaders would be sworn in to provide a level of communication for National threats, including foreign interference. When #PP thought he was going to be the PM he could tell his supporters "I'm not gonna let Justin tell me what I can and can't say" which played well to the base. There is probably nothing nefarious (besides being a Con) with him. But his obstinence has caught up with him. Turns out one of the interference problems was his own selection, which he says he didn't know about (d'uh) Carney gets it day 1 and now has a talking point. A self-inflicted wound.

@murodegrizeco There wasn't when he was a Harper cabinet minister in 2015... I wonder what changed btwn 2015 and 2022... and now?
