Why has the World Service to provide a return, extend influence or promote anything other than good journalism?</p><p>Cost of everything, value of nothing.</p><p>The BBC does it because it is unique, because it is good and because it can. The UK is going Trump. Sure, the news agenda already seems slanted and BBC impartiality appears weakened, but we'll never get it back once it is lost.</p><p>And there are plenty put there who know it.
