A beta reader for my cql/mdzs - pacific rim fusion fic?

I have a rough draft of 52K that I'm slowly editing through and would appreciate someone else eyeballing it for a good measure. Characterization should be fine, it's the plot holes and ending I'm slightly iffy about. SPaG not needed.

This is five main chapters about 10K of length plus prologue and epilogue. The rating is E for a lil bit of smut and a lot of violence, POV LWJ, featuring pining, annoyingly indulgent LXC, exasperated WQ, perpetually angry JC, smart and scheming NHS, and self-sacrificing WWX--business as usual, that is.

I prefer working over googleDocs even with the capitalism et al.

PM me if this tickles your fancy!

#WritersCoffeeClub 17 February. How do you get proofreaders/editors if you don’t pay them?

Originally I found them in the fandom i was active in. Since then I have lost those individuals and relay on my daughter who I trade reading with. I make up for it by using four different grammar tools and recently added a text reader, to get a reading that isn’t in my voice adding what is missing.

I have posted several times looking for a new beta reader but have had no luck. Feel free to enquire.

I am looking for a new beta reader. RL has led to one of my beta readers being unable to provide prompt feedback. Ideally, I am looking for someone who likes yuri and Japanese culture. I publish roughly 8,000 words a month in an ongoing light novel serial. What I send to beta readers is a fairly polished product. I am willing to do return beta reading.

Feel free to DM me if you're interested, have questions, or need details.

HELP -- By the way, this is a bit last minute and I may not even be able to send it, but is there an amateur of technology based horror in the room, who would be willing to quickly beta read a 6k short story sometimes tonight or tomorrow morning ?

(yeah, awfully last minute, deadlines are my kryptonite.)

(no corrections/editing, just general feedback about the quality of the storyline and the style.)

Beta listener wanted -
I am STILL looking for a few people who are familiar with audio books to give a beta listen to a 30 minute short story audio file to let me know if I'm remotely close to the mark of recording my own audio books.

Story features heroine with anxiety/cPTSD, a service mini horse named Freckles, and time travel.

Many thanks!

I have finished processing my audiobook of my fantasy short story, A Pony In Time. This same short story is currently available for free at all major retailers/my website.

It runs just a little under 33 minutes.

Would anyone be willing to provide gentle feedback on it within the next few days? I would love to have 3-5 people listen who are familiar with audio books to let me know if I'm close to the mark. Let me know. I can send over a file for you.

So the challenge I've given myself for this beta read is to get excited about every little "sleepy face" (which means a reader got bored) or "frowny face" (which means they disagree or didn't like something) someone reacts with in the manuscript -- because every one is a ✨neutral✨ bit of information that I can choose whether or not to use to help me make the book better.

If you read that and you're like "duh" then you and I are wired differently

I went to the Nottingham Writers' Studio monthly lunchtime social on Friday for the third month in a row. There were only three of us, but great conversation. The time flew. Heads up to Peter A and Wes M

Two of us read some of our work. I read the first few pages of novelx3 (I had it open on my laptop at the time). Then PA said he would like to read it - the whole thing: 'Climate Bridges - the novel' 😲

Did a quick check over w/e. Sent it off last night

I'm working on a World/Chronicles of Darkness supplement called "Bit Parts" about creating simplified mortal NPCs. I'm aiming for a theme of "ordinary people matter," and that will necessarily include people who face bigotry and other forms of adversity. I intend to be inclusive with my examples and I'm testing the waters here to see if anyone's interested in being a beta reader for sensitivity. You don't need to be familiar with the game rules to contribute.

Otherwise, feel free to ask questions or give suggestions.
