jasalt<p>Before starting to use self-hosted GlitchTip observability platform few months back I did comparison between features in some available tools.</p><p>SigNoz having logging and APM tools in same package gave a headache during setup and got settled with GlitchTip. Any recommendations for deploying Shiny apps and configuring other services
on DigitalOcean using 'infrastructure as code' approaches?
- Shell scripts
- cloud-init
- {analogsea} R package
- Docker containers
- Terraform

I'm comfortable with the first two but wondering if it's worth the trouble to get into the other options. {analogsea} seems great for core R infrastructure but not how universal it is for other things.

Guess I'll do a proper #introduction: I'm an IT guy with a love for #Unix / #Linux, both at home and work.
Fan of all things #opensource. I've spent many years on #realtime data, used to be a full-time linux admin. I've dabbled in #bigdata, and I'm currently doing things that are called #CloudEngineering on #aws.

In my free time, I'm learning the #piano, I sing in two #choirs (a small pop #choir and a big #chamberchoir). I also play the #bagpipe, and I've been known to manhandle a #trumpet.
