The biggest email mistake we see brands make in email marketing?
Obsessing over subject lines… but for the wrong reason.

Yes, subject lines matter.
But not just to boost open rates.

Your subject line should pre-frame the click, the offer, and the value inside.
Otherwise, your open rate might look good, but your conversions won’t.

Find out how to make your subject lines better.

Well, I'm desperate, so here we go...

If anyone is in need of a copywriter or knows of any openings, I need a job. I've got 18 years of copywriting/copyediting/communications experience across a range of industries.

Remote positions are preferable."

On my #linkedin feed I see a lot of viral posts about how em dash is a telltale sign of an AI-generated text.

I'm dying inside. I myself and a lot of content writers I've worked with are using it on a regular basis, so I was quite... surprised by such assumption.

Apparently, for a lot of people this is the first contact with such sign. And I'm talking about people from business and marketing spheres. I can't wrap my head around this.

I'm currently taking a free Open University course to gain a better understanding of how #GenerativeAI works and what its strengths and weaknesses are. I like that it doesn't gloss over ethical and legal issues.

Another AI-related course for small business owners I attended completely ignored questions about environmental, ethical, or copyright issues. It felt like it was selling snake oil to the masses. Whether it was #copywriting, graphic design, or a new #marketing strategy: just press a few buttons and an app will do it all for you. No thinking required.

Back to the OU course. One thing it recommends doing is to critically analyse everything you read:

- Why was this information published?

- Is there evidence to support this information?

- Could there be a different interpretation of this evidence?

- What is the reader not being told, and what are the implications?

- Does the source of the information have any vested interests/biases?

We all should do this.

Active vs. Passive Voice: The Art of Structuring Ideas Before Drafting (Free Cheat Sheet Inside!)

Let’s face it: grammar rules can feel stuffy. But here’s the deal active and passive voice aren’t about “right” or “wrong.” They’re tools. And like any good tool, their power lies in knowing when to use them.
