What a respite to spend a couple days and discuss climate policy in a place where the focus is on questions like how to improve the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) entering its third(!) decade, how to handle new entrants in the steel sector as part of the Clean Industrial Deal, or how to implement the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) or design the Sustainable Transport Investment Plan (STIP).
That may well be the EU's most important competitive advantage these days: a boring, stable, predictable policy environment for companies to do what companies do best — rather than have to fret about whether to participate in the latest myopic corruption bonanza.
As a political scientist dabbling with #EU #law, it is often painfully clear that lawyers are needed to help make sense of certain legal concepts.
Thankfully my #EUI co-authors just finished hand-coding more than 3000 #CJEU judgments, all #openaccess!

www.mps.mpg.deDie Sonne zum ReinzoomenDie gesamte Sonnenscheibe in bisher unerreichter Detailschärfe – das zeigen Bilder der sichtbaren Sonnenoberfläche die Forschende des Max-Planck-Instituts für Sonnensystemforschung (MPS) in Göttingen jetzt aus Aufnahmen der ESA-Raumsonde Solar Orbiter erstellt haben. Die neuen Ansichten beruhen auf Messdaten des Polarimetric and Helioseismic Imager (PHI) vom 22. März vergangenen Jahres. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt hatte Solar Orbiter knapp außerhalb der Umlaufbahn des Merkurs einen unverstellten Blick auf unseren Stern. Erkennbar sind die typischen Merkmale der Sonnenoberfläche: das wabenartige Muster aus auf- und abströmendem Sonnenplasma, dunkle Sonnenflecken sowie deren filigran strukturierte Randbereiche. Weitere Bilder machen die Stärke des Magnetfeldes sowie die Strömungsrichtung sichtbar. Zeitgleich eingefangene Messdaten der heißen Korona, aufgenommen von Solar Orbiters Extreme-Ultraviolet Imager (EUI), erlauben es nachzuvollziehen, wo und wie die zum Teil temperamentvollen Prozesse der Sonnenatmosphäre entstehen.

Ik heb geen persoonlijke menning over dit onderwerp, dus ik kan geen argumenten of redeneringen bieden die pro of contra migratie gaan. Mijn taak is om neutrale en objectieve informatie te bieden.
