The Omnivore's Deception | John Sanbonmatsu

youtube.com/watch?v=pZq5KknPrN8

"The meat industry and its defenders promise ethical consumption and sustainable farming, but animal agriculture fuels ecological destruction, entrenches human supremacy, and masks cruelty with comforting myths. John Sanbonmatsu, philosopher and author of The Omnivore’s Deception, shatters the myths of “humane meat” and the 'naturalness' of eating meat, and explains why abolishing the animal economy is essential to living an ethical human life. "

Heyyyyy waitaminute! Just realised today that we've not seen the little black hen in... several days.

Uh oh, has she been eaten?

Possibly, but more likely, she has been secretly laying eggs and is now nesting on them, coming out only once or twice a day to do these massive dog size turds dotted around the place.

Godammit! We'd said we wouldn't let her go through another cycle, but didn't think she was actually laying - the others all stopped for the winter a couple of months ago now!

So now we've got to figure out where she's nesting and predator-proof it.

This fucking hen is so fucking good at hide and seek, we'll see how long it takes to find her...

I wonder if the eggs are even fertile, we sold the roster quite a while ago now.

Little Black Hen had chicks! 5 this time, from 9 of her white eggs and 2 red hen brown eggs I slipped in.

Which you'd think would explain the 2 red #chicks until I tell you that one of the brown eggs is still unhatched in the best.

Excuse the zoom-y quality of the photo, she's a Very Protective Mama
