Another case of slavery in Romania. The slavers are - as usual - in the animal farming business (herding).

The herd/farm owner uses slaves to do the hard work of looking after the animals (usually sheep) locally and when they're on the grasslands during the summer.
In this case there are 7 victims, one is a child (child labor is a core tradition in pastoralism).
The news reports don't have a lot of details aside from sayings that the people were housed in terrible conditions.
One of the disadvantages of all this extensive land use which is typical for "free range" herding of animals is that there's nobody around. That's one of the reasons pastoral religions are so into the Sky Father who monitors everyone, invisibly. (No witnesses.)
One of the founding myths for Romania is basically a murder and rustling (stealing the animals) story between herders, decorated with stories of magical sheep. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miori%C8%9Ba
