This handheld Linux PC is made for wireless hacking (Crowdfunding a Raspberry Pi-powered Flipper Zero alternative with a QWERTY keyboard)

The Interrupt is a handheld computer with a QWERTY keyboard for thumb typing, a 3.5 inch IPS LCD color display, and a Kali Linux-based operating system. But while you can use it as a general purpose device, it’s really designed as a sort of Flipper Zero-like system for tinkering with nearby wireless devices.

In addition to WiFi 5 and Bluetooth, the handheld has a CG1101 sub 1 GHz radio, […]

GK STM32 MCU-Based Handheld.

These days even a lowly microcontroller can easily trade blows with — or surpass — desktop systems of yesteryear, so it is a little wonder that DIY handheld gaming systems based around an MCU are more capable than ever. A case in point is the GK-Handheld by [John Cronin], which uses an MCU from relatively new and very capable STM32H7S7 series.

I said this nearly a year ago:

As much as I like how Steamdeck and Nintendo Switch bring a little bit more portability back into gaming, I'd still love to have a small handheld the size of the GameBoy Color or foldable like the 3DS.

I really liked that really small form factor.

But of course these would, once again, require dedicated games. You couldn't just run your Witchers and Cyberpunks scaled down to such a tiny screen, so, I guess this won't happen. 😁😅

Here is a crazy idea for a #gaming #handheld:

Create a product that is reasonbly well specced and instead of creating more and more expensive models each year keep the specs but lower the price to get more and more users.

Then when you have a big user base, create another model and keep it for years, until most of your users from base A migrated and repeat.

This way you wont exploit users but still have a business to thrive.

Win-Win?
