grobi<p>Is this really the end of HexChat? </p><p>"Developers All Hands On Deck"</p><p>There are not that many irc clients, although the Protocol for real-time Internet chat and messaging is extremely popular in the free open software community and there are an infinite number of users and developers on all kinds of topics exchanged in the channels. </p><p>What a great and moving moment it was, after which the freenode server was corrupted by the selfishness of one person and the "former" staff not only issued a warning, but also libera.chat was founded! In no time at all, all channels of the free software scene migrated from freenode to Libera.chat, a few, such as <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/kali" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kali</span></a>-linux, migrated to the oftc or others, but then let themselves be represented via channel bots on libera.chat to keep the connection.. And it was kept! And the connections are still in place!<br>From my point of view, this great movement is the most beautiful example of unity among the free-thinking FOSS, FLOSS, FSF people ever!</p><p>Internet Relay Chat protocol is more alive than ever and that's why projects like Hexchat can't die! </p><p>The alternatives I can think of would be Weechat and irssi (commandline).</p><p>Or ChatZilla in the browser (Seamonkey).. unfortunately, I personally can't think of many more possibilities right now.</p><p><a href="https://hexchat.github.io/news/2.16.2.html" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">hexchat.github.io/news/2.16.2.</span><span class="invisible">html</span></a><br><a href="https://hexchat.readthedocs.io/en/latest/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">hexchat.readthedocs.io/en/late</span><span class="invisible">st/</span></a><br><a href="https://libera.chat/guides/hexchat" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">libera.chat/guides/hexchat</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://defcon.social/tags/unix" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>unix</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/bsd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bsd</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/gnu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gnu</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/foss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>foss</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/floss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>floss</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/fsf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fsf</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/cli" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cli</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/irc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>irc</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/hexchat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hexchat</span></a></p>
