#FediBlock / #InstanceBlock
freysa.ai
Spam - Instance is flooding the timeline with AI generated spam.
A glance over the timeline shows a ton of #AI generated content, repeating the same phrases over and over again in different contexts, seemingly to build fake discourse and infiltrate real discourse. Accounts are over a month old, meaning administration has not done anything about it. Blocking as #Spam, recommending other server #staff do the same.

Golly, looks like I forgot to block you after all that talk about blocking Parcero.Casa for being block evasion by Parcero.Bond on #Fediblock / #InstanceBlock. I guess I should go fix that now...
Parcero.Casa
Hate Speech / Harassment - Block evasion by Parcero.Bond, making the rounds to harass people.
Attached is a screenshot of the interaction above...
Realized this wasn't public, reposting...
I looked over the email accounts that small group of spammers we dealt with last week was using, found some email providers that everyone should want to block, reposting them on #Fediblock / #InstanceBlock for other #Moderation teams / #FediAdmin to block as well...
wyoxafp.com - disposable email provider
wirelay.com - disposable email provider
nalwan.com - disposable email provider
hatesje.ws - dedicated troll email provider
genocide.fun - dedicated troll email provider
pissmail.com - actual email provider behind the above emails
Hope people find that helpful!
Just wanted all the other #Moderation teams watching #FediBlock / #InstanceBlock to know we're experiencing some sort of minor #spam / #troll #raid, which seems to be affecting a few servers. It's only like a couple posts an hour, I'm keeping an eye on the sign ups, and we're going to be bringing on a new moderator we've been onboarding.
These aren't automated, so even if you have protections against automated signups, y'all may want to check your local timeline. Look for wojack / soyjack memes.
After seeing how #FediAntisemitism can be useful as a tag (not getting into the issue of false positives on it), I'd like to see something like that for other #Moderation issues we see on the #Fediverse.
I propose we start using the tags #FediRacism, #FediQueerphobia, #FediTransphobia, and #FediAbleism when posting about examples of those things.
This will have three major uses...
1) Serve as a more specific warning to instances that are actively trying to protect themselves against those things. (eg, Black or Queer instances that need to spot #Racism and #Queerphobia fast to protect their users from #Harassment)
2) Give us a more direct way to track these issues on the network at large, and thus collect data on them.
3) Provide a more granular tagging for #FediBlock and #InstanceBlock posts.
I would like to say all this with the disclaimer that these tags always have false positives, so I encourage people to check the receipts before they block.
What are people's thoughts on this?
I am seeing spam replies from mastodon.social daily, and I'm sick and tired of reporting bots. Can anyone please recommend me an instance that has blocked mastodon.social? Bonus points if the server is located in Europe. I'm also fine if the main language of the server is German/Spanish/Italian.
Boost for visibility are appreciated
Not sure what's going on but had to block [135.181.116.160] in our WAF. It claims to be [mastodon.world] and the IP is in Finland.
It has been HAMMERING one of our instances to the tune of over 6,000 reqs an hour sending #ActivityPub "INBOX" post requests.
You look at our metrics and traffic for the last 24 hours and things look fine and then all of a sudden we are getting HAMMERED.
Anybody know the #FediAdmin for [mastodon.world]?
#MastoAdmin #administrivia #InstanceBlock
Thought I would just share for those running their own instance. There is a mass block list (currently 143) available regarding instances that have a poor rep.
I bring this up because someone I follow was getting sexually harassed and bullied by users on instances that are on the block list.
You are looking for Garden Fence if you haven't already imported it.

If you run your own instance, protect your users.
