Glad to see this. I’ve been having trouble getting dark mode again with the update.

I just tried exporting a story I'm working on from #LibreOffice to an ePub file, and it worked beautifully. It used to be that you had to get a plug-in to do this, but now it's built right into the app. I even added metadata and some random image as a cover, just to see what would happen, and it worked perfectly.
I cannot figure out why more #writers don't use LibreOffice. Every single time I go to do something in it that I want to do for writing either fiction or nonfiction, it's way ahead of what you can do in Microsoft Word, and definitely way ahead of what you can do in Google Docs. Yeah you have to learn the app, but it's not like that's too difficult for what most writers need to get going.
Anyone else wake up today and find that Libreoffice Calc isn't opening existing files anymore? At least not ODS files? Seems OK opening CSV files but is hanging/crashing on ODS files.
Men man får lite system i beslutsfattandet.
Something my computer in 1989 could do that no modern OS today (AFAIK) does:
Convert any text from any font into an outline or drop-shadow. Of course, it was just pixel-twiddling trickery at that time, they were still bitmapped fonts back then. But it wouldn't be that hard today to do the same thing algorithmically on the vectors themselves. Also, Macintosh System 7 did the same thing, and those were vector fonts. I don't know if it was just applying the same bitmap algorithms to the bitmapped output of the font rendering, or if they had something fancier going on.
It's like modern tech isn't even trying. Or it's trying so hard to do incredibly stupid things like baking-in "AI."
I just checked on Mac OS 9, and all of the same text style transformation options were there, even with anti-aliasing and everything.
UPDATE: I am a very, very, very, very, very clever human being. [--__--
] (#LibreOffice totally supports outline and shadow in regular text in Writer)
Microsoft Office 2016 and Office 2019 will no longer receive software updates, technical support, or bug and security fixes after 14.10.2025.
Consider migrating to LibreOffice.

Here's what I use:
#Computer #OS: #Linux
#Browser: #VivaldiBrowser
#Messaging: #SessionMessenger (mainly #European, service nodes are everywhere)
#Email: #ProtonMail and #VivaldiWebmail
#MapApp: #CoMaps
#Office: #LibreOffice
#CloudStorage: #Filen_io and #ProtonDrive
#TranslationApp: #DeepL
#AIChat: #MistralAI
#ImageEditing: #GIMP
#Blogging: #VivaldiBlogs
(I especially like that #SessionMessenger is entirely #FOSS, unlike #SignalApp)
I hope this helps :)
P.S. Please ask if there's something I missed. I tried to put here the most used types of tools, but maybe I forgot some
