My PCBs arrived! I ordered 20 and I got 33? Weird. It's like they had some spare space on a panel and just scattered a few around at random?
These are breakout boards for the little ESP32-containing modules I use for various projects. I got tired of mounting them on veroboard. You can buy very similar breakout boards from the manufacturer, but these are simpler and cheaper.
I am confused by this #M5Stack #Core2 controller thou - Both of my others show up as /dev/ttyUSB0 devices, this one shows a /dev/ttyACM0 device - So I thought maybe it was an updated device, but when I opened it, it appears to be the same as the older ones I have (v1.0) devices, This one also seems like it uses different PSRam, original factory demo which works on my old devices crash this one, but the new (v1.1) factory demo works. PSRam was the big change between the two versions.
It’s janky but it works! Need to de-jank it somewhat now but I’m pretty happy with this so far! I think I will need to find a better reservoir!

I was able to find this #M5Tough for a reasonable price here in the states.
I think #M5Stack has figured out the whole #tariff thing now thou and has started to ship to the states again.
We will see how that goes. Mean while I had an idea for one of these a while ago, and maybe now I can make my project and not worry about it being outside.

Fun! M5Stack Atom now set up behind the TV in our bedroom (outside the ensuite) and the little LED on it should pulse red if the plant needs watering, then turn green for a minute and then go off when all is ok. No doubt I’ll need to tweak the automation in home assistant but we’ll see how it goes!
Probably my final order from China for a while - and I probably should have order more stuff, this all got here pretty fast considering.
4 Puzzle Units, a Unit ASR, a Atom Echo Base (not sure why I wanted/needed this), a Unit Joystick2 and a StamPLC which I think was a really good deal, not real sure what I'm going to do with it yet.
M5 stopped taking orders from the US on the 18th, I got in just under the deadline - and like I said probably should have ordered more stuff
Jamming on the idea of Hackdays-on-a-stick. An #ESP32 is probably too minimal as a device, but still educational how vendors like #M5stack try to package these low cost microcontrollers for schools and even kindergarten level users. #datahackdaysuri
