#Musk friends R making money by selling access to stakes in his private companies. A coterie of his associates tightly control the entry point to hard-to-get shares investors covet particularly in #SpaceX, #xAI, #Neuralink #BoringCompany per WSJ . A business w 2,000 “holders of record” is legally required to disclose financial information like a public company. 1 way to avoid that is for existing investors to sell shares of holding companies that own stakes in the Musk businesses to outsiders.

How long before Felon Muscovite uses his #neuralink technology to "fix" the "sexual deviants" (#LGBTQ+) and "#homegrowns"?

He has the means (Neuralink), the data (that #DOGE stole), and the motivation (hates #woke, thinks empathy is a weakness, is a #fascist). His Government already ignores the courts.

He needs human victims to perfect his device and going public may give him the momentum he needs.
#Nazis in concentration camps did the exact same thing; horrible human experiments.

He has already stated he wants to use this tech to fix #paraplegics
He has zero morals not to try to "fix" the "broken" woke.

Just asking the question!

'As I have previously written, longtermism is arguably the most influential ideology that few members of the general public have ever heard about. Longtermists have directly influenced reports from the secretary-general of the United Nations; a longtermist is currently running the RAND Corporation; they have the ears of billionaires like Musk; and the so-called Effective Altruism community, which gave rise to the longtermist ideology, has a mind-boggling $46.1 billion in committed funding. Longtermism is everywhere behind the scenes — it has a huge following in the tech sector — and champions of this view are increasingly pulling the strings of both major world governments and the business elite.'

Salon · Understanding "longtermism": Why this suddenly influential philosophy is so toxicWhatever we may "owe the future," it isn't a bizarre and dangerous ideology fueled by eugenics and capitalism

I don't use LLMs for anything meaningful (I have tried them, just to help understand how they work). I think the reason is something like this:

1. In would be really keen on a computer <-> brain interface. The possibilities are fascinating.

2. But only if it was:
- open source,
- understandable (not black-box), and
- not corporate-controlled.
So neuralink is a fuck no. I think the visceral discomfort with and repulsiveness of the idea of someone like Elon Musk having direct access to your brainstem should be obvious to anyone half-sane.

3. LLMs are not quite the same thing, but they are definitely in some kind of uncanny-valley of similarity. The link is linguistic, and not electrical, but that's just one level of abstraction away. And they fail all three criteria in point 2 (at least all of the commercial ones do, I don't have the energy or impetus to set up my own, I'd rather just do the learning myself).
