Starting to see a ton of intra-cloud lightning associated with the ice pellets and mixed precipitation moving into Southern Ontario ahead of the surface warm front.

Either South-Central Ontario got hit by a really bad ice storm or Hydro One is really crap at reporting/fixing outages. HydroOne's StormCentre map shows a wall of outages from Parry Sound at the north down to Orangeville at the south, sweeping almost all the way east to Kingston.

Wow, just heard all the gas stations on highway 7 between Peterborough and Sharbot Lake are out of power.

That's 163 kms.

That's quite a long and organized front coming our way, presumably bringing us the big warm-up to 16C tomorrow.

Might be rumbly overnight as it comes through though. Hope it's not doing anything violent. Just hitting Toronto now, no?

Not nearly as much ice accumulation this time around here in Kitchener-Waterloo / Guelph area compared to cottage country and eastern #Ontario. It is pretty, and not to the extent which brought down tree branches last year, but nobody should be out on the roads unless they absolutely must.
