I feel like this is widely misunderstood as far as I can tell the mastodon / pixelfed: the heart button doesn’t do what you think it does. Mastodon has no algorithm , by hearting something you mostly just send the poster an notification. Mastodon doesn’t queue up more things based on what you hearted. Some apps have “trending” which may compile a gross of all reactions. In other words I’m saying liking \ heart doesn’t do a whole lot of much. Boost , Follow and meow more !

And if I’m wrong about the heart button please enlighten me.
