At Bois de Wallers he was already 20 minutes behind. He road 95km on his own, close to half of this are cobbles, and managed to reach the vélodrome in Roubaix, although outside time limit. He was behind the rolling road block, he had to navigate drunken spectators who are no longer paying attention, who are trying to get off the pavé as soon as possible. Chapeau that man!

Eindelijk is het zover, de koers komt thuis. Roubaix is iconisch, holy week, met E3, Wevelgem en DVV, is geweldig. De ronde zelf is, ..., een commercieel succes. Maar voor mij ligt het hoogtepunt van het wielervoorjaar toch in de komende 2 weken. Proximity bias heeft er zeker iets mee te maken, dat geef ik toe, de Smeysberg, de Camerig, le mur de Huy en la Redoute rijd ik zelf al eens over. Maar ook de helden van de klimklassiekers zeggen mij meer. Gilbert, Valverde, Nibali, Pantani en Vandenbroucke. Die namen klinken toch veel beter dan Naesen Vanmarcke en Nuyens. Ik loop hiermee het risico nooit meer welkom te zijn aan de andere kant van de Zenne maar zelfs Boonen is toch ook maar gewoon ne dikke sprinter.

As for cycling: in stage races, it's considered uncool to attack one of the race leaders when they've been involved in a crash or had a mechanical. In the spring classics, which are all one day races and usually ridiculously long and grueling, there is no race leader going in, so if a favorite falls? Attack away. Flat tire on the cobblestones? Bummer dude, we're out.

Ich hätte es #TadejPogacar gegönnt #parisroubaix zu gewinnen, aber ist doch auch gut, dass es #Radrennen gibt, die ein anderer Typ Fahrer gewinnen kann. #mathieuvanderpoel ist einfach ein großartiger Klassiker-Fahrer und der Sieg war absolut verdient! Congrats #MvdP!

Het scenario van de vrouwen ook graag in #ParisRoubaixHommes aub. Niemand wil met Pogacar op de bagagedrager naar de piste rijden, ze houden mekaar in allemaal aan de riem en een luitenant gaat er van door. Maakt me dan nog niet zoveel uit of het Vacek is, Wellens of Vermeersch, Benoot, ... Het mooiste is misschien wel Van Baarle. Dan winnen ze allebei dezelfde editie. Ja ja, dan heeft hij 2 kasseien op de kast, en zij maar 1, maar PFP heeft al 150 wereldtitels dus het is toch al wel duidelijk wie de beste is hoor.

Pauline Ferrand-Prévot is so strong at the end of Paris Roubaix today. She's riding at > 50km/h at the end of the race and bunch just can't get close to her
