Updating our intranet that is #Dokuwiki , PHP and some Python uWSGI tools from an old CentOS 7 box to a new Rocky 9 system. Making it a VM on a spare mini PC running #Proxmox to learn a bit more about that in the process.

Hmm, unser selbstgebautes #ISCSI beherbergt unsere gesamte Test Umgebung, sprich Platten für die VMs unter #proxmox. Das muss dringend ersetzt werden, weil ich jedesmal die Luft anhalten muss, ob es nach Problem X (Strom / HW / Reboot) wieder hochkommt. Nach dem das Prod Ceph ausgetauscht wurde, konnte ich mein Test #Ceph endlich fertigstellen, aber die Ceph #Performance ist wirklich mies. Rados bench liegt im 3 stelligen Bereich für MB/s .

My plan is to test the migration of my services to k3s in this virtual environment. After that, I will gradually move to dedicated nodes

Das ganze jetzt für 12 Watt im Idle statt 10 Watt.

Für locker 50% mehr Leistung ist das schon okay, zumal der ja zu 95% im Idle läuft :)

just wrapped up unfucking a #proxmox #windows server guest that had imported disks from #vmware. it was an arduous process that involved a ton of time with bcdedit/bcdboot. i also had to use dism to manually inject the #virtio drivers. ugh.

i really should document this and make it a blog post or something but i am so very exhausted. i need to do this again with another guest so maybe i'll write it all down then.

#ProxLB is a loadbalancer for #Proxmox clusters that balances guests across your nodes based on cpu, memory or (local) disk size. It also comes with additional features like:
* Affinity / anti-affinity rules
* Maintenance mode
* Node evacuation (based on best resource usage)
* Best node evaluation for CI/CD (e.g. #Ansible or #Terraform)

I'm so puzzled by this error that I receive from time to time when attempting to stream from my #ErsatzTV container running on #Docker/#Proxmox's #LXC container, which I've passed through my #AMD Ryzen 5 5600G iGPU for hardware transcoding:

HLS process for channel 101 has terminated unsuccessfully with exit code 137: amdgpu: os_same_file_description couldn't determine if two DRM fds reference the same file description.
If they do, bad things may happen!

Je viens d'installer #Wanderer sur mon #Proxmox v8.4.1 . L'application est sympathique même s'il y a pas mal de bugs. Suivant les navigateurs c'est plus ou moins lent. Le pire c'est avec Safari .. et le mieux c'est Firefox.
Et le dénivelé n'est jamais bon, on perd en gros 25%.
Et je parle même pas de la page principale qui est non modifiable.
Le point positif c'est le moteur de recherche qui est simplement parfait.

NAS-Ersatz: Ein i5 Mini-PC ist unterwegs. Jetzt Konzeptarbeit.
Habe noch ein Gegenmodell zu Proxmox überlegt: Den Server mit Alpine Linux - wirklich minimalster Umfang - aufsetzen, und die diversen Dienste zumindest in eigenen Docker Compose Stacks laufen lassen. iobroker dann „bare metal“.
Spart den erheblichen Overhead von Proxmox aber hat natürlich kein „1 klick“ Snapshot, und mal eben mit wenig Risiko was Neues ausprobieren ist auch nicht so einfach.

I've installed my #Intel #ArcA380 GPU on my #Proxmox node and... I'm having a hard time configuring the #ASRock #BIOS bcos for wtv reason, it's not outputting the full screen to my test monitor, so I can't really see the full list of options and menus I'd like to configure to enable ReBAR and so on. I've never experienced this before so.. what gives?

Edit: Just switched to another, more 'modern' monitor and it works fine.
