Question: is there a way to run the @signalapp on a dual sim iPhone? I had one suggestion: run the beta separate, but that didn’t work: (a) the separate portion of the suggestion was Android specific and (b) the beta did not install as a separate app on iOS. Are there any other ideas floating around? I would much appreciate the input. #signal #ios #dualsim

Is it just me, or is #Matrix getting more and more broken?

- Chat history gets stuck (no new messages, if you clear the client cache you are no longer in the room and have to rejoin)
- Someone starts a DM with you, you can't join, it just spins forever
- etc.

It has worked much better for me in the past.

I've gotten to a point where I only mention #Signal and #Threema when I want to start a chat with someone...

@Wen : You write: "Go #Signal - it makes sense" - and I say NO. Better use messaging on a Linux phone, because the way, data is caught most likely occurs before any message leaves a phone - directly on OS level.
An OS coming from an organization deep inside big money and greed contradicts 'trustworthiness' against customers _ c o m p l e t e l y _ - see (total...?) "recall" and Microsoft Windows!

@november I use #XMPP as my sole chat and call medium, and find it pretty good. (I don’t use centralized/proprietary/unsustainable/NIH services like #WhatsApp, #Telegram, #Discord, #Signal, #Threema, #Matrix, etc)

It’s often the case that people with the worst impression of XMPP used it ages ago, and did so with some terrible clients (Pidgin, Thunderbird)…

I’ve written a guide that helps new users stick to the best clients and servers of the ecosystem, and avoid the underdeveloped parts. Perhaps it could help you?

The Quick and Easy Guide to Jabber/XMPP

(Either way, I’d love to hear about recent experiences and pain points in using XMPP. I don’t doubt there’s a lot to be improved.)

#Signal's focus on security could be compromised by A.I. agents, even when performing simple tasks like booking a restaurant reservation. To complete such a task, an agent needs access to your calendar, credit card, web browser, contacts list and messaging apps like Signal to find an available time, make the payment, search for a restaurant and coordinate with friends.

Perusing a paper paper for once I saw this advert for WhatsApp.

No I can believe the content of your message can not be read, but by using it, your address book is theirs, your messages sent/received are logged and you will be tracked wherever you are - and whatever you are buying.

That’s what they really want.

Go #Signal - it makes sense
