r1w1s1Sounds like your wife just ran the ultimate long-term benchmark for us: months of zero complaints on Slack 15.0! 😄<br><a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#slackware</a><br>
r1w1s1Hi good morning! Fixing the sound here, I was using <a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=pulseaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#pulseaudio</a> (thinkpadT480) and now changed to <a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=pipewire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#pipewire</a> (ThinkpadT14), works well.<br><br>CC: <span class="h-card"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/users/lndn" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@lndn@fosstodon.org</a></span><br><br><a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#slackware</a> <a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=thinkpad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#thinkpad</a><br>
Joel Carnat ♑ 🤪<p>That said, wife uses <a href="https://piou.foolbazar.eu/tags/Slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Slackware</span></a> 15.0 and I didn’t have to do any SysAdmin stuff on this system for months now. And she still doesn’t complain.</p>
Joel Carnat ♑ 🤪<p>Years ago, hear not yet 2000…, I chose team <a href="https://piou.foolbazar.eu/tags/Slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Slackware</span></a> vs mostly all others being team <a href="https://piou.foolbazar.eu/tags/Debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Debian</span></a>. Others that I knew of and actually did talk too :)</p><p>These days, I have both Slackware and Debian laptops. And I must admit, it takes less (re)compile time to use the later. Even with SBo packages.</p><p>Slack is great to learn and know what you’re doing. But since you do, simple apt installing is like "ok, let’s spend time actually doing things".</p><p>And yes, I hate myself for landing to this conclusion.</p>

jloc0<p>Ok, I went ahead and just uploaded plasma 6.4 beta. A crash reporter is worthless on an unsupported machine anyway, so we’re going to assume drkonqi-6.3.5 partially works until I’m proven otherwise. Enable the repo, or wait for me to post a liveslak soon and read my blurb about what’s new here: <a href="https://slackware.lngn.net/#kde6-unstable" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">slackware.lngn.net/#kde6-unsta</span><span class="invisible">ble</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/kde6" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kde6</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackaroni" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>slackaroni</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a></p>
jloc0<p>I re-enabled the <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/kde6" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kde6</span></a>-unstable repos today in preparation for the upcoming plasma 6.4 betas. I also got my Raspberry Pi 4 running <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/SlackwareARM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SlackwareARM</span></a>. I've always just had to run NetBSD in a VM, but I don't wish to anymore.
