When the #moon first formed some 4.5 billion years ago, the day
was less than 10 hours
long. But since then, the moon’s gravitational pull on the #Earth
has been #slowing our planet’s rotation. The #sun's
gravity #speeds it up. https://www.utoronto.ca/news/astrophysicists-reveal-why-earths-day-was-constant-over-billion-years
5 Jul 2023 Fossil data record the number of days
per year or, equivalently, the number of hours
per day. Interactions with the #Moon
and with the other #planets
drive changes. #Lunar tides have been active since at least 3.2 billion years ago. There were about 27 #Solar days per synodic month around 3000 Ma https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.add2499
12. To build anything is to expend energy. The bigger the thing, the more energy. All processes require energy; some require extremely high temperatures, high pressures, or other extreme levels of energy. Cement making, for instance, is a textbook high energy process.
Anything possible which would reduce fuel use and emissions immediately is a cessation of or slowing of some industrial or other high energy process.
Slowing surface speed.
Slowing daily ton/miles.
Slowing data processing

#Deflation And #Slowing #Growth: Why 2023 Will See Both Continue And Cause Increased Fragility
- Adem Tumerkan , Seeking Alpha
I still maintain that inflationary pressures peaked in June and will continue declining - I expect core-goods deflation in 2023.
The three factors - supply, demand, and monetary - that fueled a post-COVID inflationary boom are all now working in reverse; deflating quickly.
The two major spigots of liquidity - fiscal and monetary - are both tightening, thus taking away from real growth momentum.
Deflation will continue - and that's a problem for a credit-fueled global monetary system

@mfioretti_en I was struggling with the mandatory #slowing down idea until I understood this might not be assured by #legal provisions: “there will be at least one major difference from Twitter: Narwhal will focus on the quality of #conversations, rather than #speed” made me understand it would be possible if a provider of a service #profits from it.
