Adventures in Theater History<p>June 1, 2015: <a href="https://historians.social/tags/Philadelphia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Philadelphia</span></a>'s Arden <a href="https://historians.social/tags/Theatre" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Theatre</span></a> Company planned a gala fundraising tribute concert for composer Stephen Sondheim. But a huge rainstorm had knocked out the power.</p><p>But the lights were still on at the Arden's nearby Hamilton Family Center. The decision was quickly made to transfer the concert there, using only one piano.</p><p>When things finally got underway, composer Jason Robert Brown was turning pages, and the <a href="https://historians.social/tags/Sondheim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sondheim</span></a> concert unfolded as if it had been planned that way all along.</p>
