Rachel Wright<p>I'm slightly terrified to announce that I will be giving an online "Thread Talk" for the Embroiderers Guild on June 3.</p><p>I'm going to talk about the various ways I've developed over the years to help get my ideas "From an Inkling To A Stitch", with examples (probably!) from among the <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/DreamsOFAmarna" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DreamsOFAmarna</span></a>, the <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/MedievalMoversAndShakers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MedievalMoversAndShakers</span></a>, and anything else that helps demonstrate how I tell stories in stitch.</p><p>Tickets are available via Eventbrite, and also provide for access to the recording for six weeks after the event.</p><p><a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/ShamelessSelfPromotion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ShamelessSelfPromotion</span></a> <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/ThreadTalk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ThreadTalk</span></a> <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/HandEmbroidery" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HandEmbroidery</span></a></p>
Natania Barron<p>Fun fact: <br /><a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/ThreadTalk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ThreadTalk</span></a><br /> didn&#39;t entirely go away. I have over 30 &quot;dresses of the week&quot; and lots of other <br /><a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/fashionhistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>fashionhistory</span></a><br /> musings over on my Patreon.</p><p>And when I do a BIG thread, I always save some of the best for my subscribers. This week is an absolutely jaw-droppingly gorgeous bodice from 1761.</p><p><a href="https://www.patreon.com/posts/threadtalk-dress-116391466?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&amp;utm_source=copyLink&amp;utm_campaign=postshare_creator&amp;utm_content=join_link" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">patreon.com/posts/threadtalk-d</span><span class="invisible">ress-116391466?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&amp;utm_source=copyLink&amp;utm_campaign=postshare_creator&amp;utm_content=join_link</span></a></p>

Natania Barron<p>Some more reviewers weighing in on NETHERFORD HALL. </p><p>Bewitching! Spellbinding! I am here for all the puns, intentional or not. </p><p>Readers are particularly enjoying the fashion! And that makes sense, of course, since this is the book that inspired <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/ThreadTalk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ThreadTalk</span></a> in the first place.<br /><a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/romantasy" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>romantasy</span></a></p>

This pink gown, replete with pleats, is utterly stunning. From 1900.

The pleats in bubblegum pink satin give a surprisingly modern feel to the gown's structure, but it's a fairly simple gown in terms of its silhouette. The train is lovely, and the stripes of silk accentuate the organic flow of fabric. The neckline hearkens back to the early Victorian period. But fun fact--had two different tops! This would allow a woman to shift from day to evening wear.
