So I started a #UK #petition titled: "Ban on requiring an app to access purchased tickets" [1]

Mainly because I was so pissed that to access the tickets for a show I needed to use the #ticketmaster app, that would **NOT** work regardless of what I tried on my phone.
We really should just be able to get it in PDF format so that I can use a basic ass PDF reader or even print it out and have it with me physically.

Petitions - UK Government and ParliamentPetition: Ban on requiring an app to access purchased ticketsThe government should update relevant legislation, so digital tickets can always be accessed offline without a mobile app. We think possible arguments regarding security do not outweigh the necessity of customer choice, access, and control

Speaking of #TicketBastard:

I've been to one event, already, this year, that wasn't ticketed through them: was ticketed through
#EventTim.

Going to a show next month — a foam party (what a throwback to my 20s that is) that's also ticketed through
EventTim.

And I just bought tickets to an October [show]() that's ticketed through
ShotGun.

So, maybe
#TicketMaster's finally starting to lose some of the stranglehold they have on this area? I mean, before #Echostage and #Soundcheck were bought by #Insomniac (who long ago sold a significant stake to #LiveNation, events there), ticketing was only very occasionally through TicketBastard. Frequently, tickets were sold through #EventBrite, #TicketFairy and a few others. Nice to see that other venues are trying to break away and don't seem to be losing the ability to book artists because of it?

I used to travel for a living. Occasionally, I got sent out to Silicon Valley for gigs. If my visits were during Sharks' home-stands, I'd usually try to get tickets. My wife was/is a #Sharks fan and I'd use it as an excuse to pick her up team paraphernalia.

…But I left that job in June of 2009. Even so, I think my last trip to San Jose was a year or two before that job ended.

This is the first time
#TicketBastard has emailed me about buying #Sharks tickets in a number of years. Pretty sure I asked to be unsubscribed from Sharks-related mailings back in 2010, possibly 2009. Really not sure why they're mailing me about Sharks home-games, again? Gonna guess they re-injected an (really fucking) old subscriber list or something?

Why, I mean why why why do we need an app to show the ticket to Ed Sheeran's concert???

Why can't I just get the pdf instead of installing the app, create an account there and import the ticket from my online account?

Sometimes I wonder what the world is becoming. And yes, I feel like a proud boomer who regrets the old days of tech. Just send me the damned pdf!!!!
