Updated from a past reflection on #whyiwrite digitally. Still sort of long. But it covers my thinking about digital composition and why I am always trying new platforms and technology (as best as I can) as a writer.
Today is the National Day on Writing in the US (hosted by the National Conference of Teachers of English).

A guiding question: Why do you write?
When I first published my book, my author, book editor, and friend Frances A. Sales said, “Once the book is out there, it’s no longer yours; it belongs to the readers.”
So, I wrote another novel, then another after that. I didn’t give much thought to book sales; I just wanted to create something beautiful for readers. Perhaps, I hoped, my book might even make them fall in love all over again.

Your reference to a collaborative project about #whyiwrite from 2015 .... oh my ... flashback city ... but fascinating to read again what we all wrote about writing, and to remember how that particular teaching network that had a lively home on the Ning platform.
(looking at things from a distance, I realize how many different spaces I have done projects in, and how many of those platforms are long gone. Be ready to ramble, at a moment's notice!).
Who’s connecting the dots for you, for me, for us…
Who are the experienced people leveraging their skills to fill the gaps in our knowledge the past few years? Networked individuals, influencers. Civic participators. What did they educate us about?

Today is the National (US) Day on Writing, hosted by the National Council of Teachers of English, and one standing annual prompt is #whyiwrite ... I was thinking about #SmallPoems writing this year #edutooter
Why do you write?
Cause it gets my thoughts out in front of my eyes.
Shout out to all the poets, scholars, novelists, playwrights, essayists, journalists, scientists and others cleaning up their current document.
#WhyIWrite I started writing books for myself when I was a child because I had trouble finding books I wanted to read. Stories of boys and their dogs didn't interest me. And w/ 40 self-published books I'm still writing today. #NationalDayOnWriting

It only took a couple of hours of tinkering with my novel to remind me how much I LOVE #writing. I was in the zone & the time flew by. It felt amazing! Regardless of how this book turns out, the joy of the process helps me feel truly alive. #WhyIWrite #writer #WritingCommunity
@Jackie Writing is a way of navigating the interior, a means for exploring the internal thoughts that might otherwise remain uncertain, niggling little pieces of thinking. Writing can surface thoughts and provide opportunity to mull them over in more detail, from different angles. When not writing, I feel a bit disconnected from myself. (note: #whyiwrite is a query prompt used each year in US for the National Day on Writing, which took place last month)
