Indigenous people's rights are under attack by Trump's administration: two weeks ago, Trump attempted to end their birthright citizenship, a constitutional right.
Indigenous people's rights are under attack by Trump's administration: two weeks ago, Trump attempted to end their birthright citizenship, a constitutional right.
Is this intended to be a compelling argument for (checks notes) supporting Trump?
Asking for a country.
Remember when your climate president approved the ConocoPhillips Willow drilling project in Alaska? Drilling has begun in places, but some activists managed to bring the decision back into court.
"The government’s attorney, Amy Collier, said experts at the agencies did consider that an increase in greenhouse gas emissions would cause the Arctic to lose sea ice, which the region’s polar bears depend on. But, she said, the link wasn’t direct. They didn’t have evidence that the specific emissions resulting from the Willow project would shrink sea ice in this part of the Arctic, hurting this particular population of polar bears."
That is some insulting sophistry. #BullShit #ClimateChange #Climate #ClimateCrisis #FossilFuels #Oil #WillowProject #USpol #KeepItInTheGround

Exactly. If you doubt that Biden has accomplished much, look at #willowproject and #GenocideinGaza.
Join Climate Reality Bay Area's Youtube Premiere tonight at 6 pm Pacific, to see 10-minute versons of our two Indigenous Speaker events recorded this summer about Alaska ( #WillowProject and #AmblerRoad ) and #Marin County (including #PointReyes ). Includes video updates/successes/next steps from our speakers. Eg, for Ambler Road, our speaker is asking us to submit public comments to the Bureau of Land Management (public comment period ends Dec. 1).

One reason I posted about the Gaza hospital explosion and the #FogofWar is because there's a new campaign starting that is intended to harm Democrats chances to regain control over the U.S. energy and climate policy related to the LNG plants which is similar to the disinformation that has been spread on the #WillowProject
You cannot start the transition of an economy like in the U.S. away from fossil fuels without compromising with the fossil fuel industry some during the initial stages.
@climatebrad
Biden's administration was able to reduce Trump's #WillowProject by 40% while at the same time putting millions of acres of arctic wild lands off limits to development.
Anyone promoting false narratives that Biden approved Trump's Willow Project is probably secretly being paid by the fossil fuel industry to help block #ClimateAction or else they are just hopelessly ignorant of U.S. administrative law.
"While the plans are exceedingly modest for now, the Climate Corps could be a means for Biden to make his environmental agenda resonate with younger voters still smarting from the administration’s approval of the #WillowProject.
With #homeownership and major asset purchases still solidly out of reach for many younger voters, the #AmericanClimateCorps #jobs might offer tangible benefits to those left out of the IRA."

"The Biden Administration is ending drilling leases in ANWR, at least for now...The leases were originally issued by the Trump administration.
"Alaska oil drilling projects have been top of mind for both the administration and voters this year. The latest announcement comes several months after Biden approved the Willow Project, the biggest new oil development in Alaska in decades, resulting in blowback to the administration."

I don't like Biden's approval of the #WIllowProject drilling in the Arctic. But that's not Biden's whole story.
It seems a lot of people are into Biden-bashing for his perceived lack of climate action.
But It turns out two thirds of Americans are not aware of the climate law called the #InflationReductionAct.
Maybe the same holes for the CHIPS act and the #BuildBackBetter act?
On July 26, the Sabin Center filed a brief in support of plaintiffs challenging the Bureau of Land Management’s approval of the #WillowProject -- a project that would pave the way for future oil and gas development.

@beastieboyofthenet @HeatherTX
Your lies don't change the fact that the Biden administration reduced the impact from Trump's #WillowProject by 40% and used that as a means to permanently protect over 13 million acres in the federal National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska from drilling. In all, the administration has protected up to 16 million acres from future fossil fuel leasing.
Don't let the lies from the far-left grifters fool you into helping put the GOP back in charge of the U.S.
@jacobrogers256 @uspolitics
You fell for the disinformation about the #WillowProject from the grifters on the left so I understand why you are unable to appreciate how important getting #ClimateAction is. So sad, but dividing their opposition is just what the #FossilFools want.
I think that you should choose a side, but that's up to you.

In the U.S., the annual carbon footprint of pet animal products is about 64 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (or annual emissions of 14.2 million gasoline-powered cars). For perspective, as the New York Times reported, the annual emissions from the Alaska’s #WillowProject would equal to about 2 million gasoline-powered cars if it is actually developed. https://www.forbes.com/sites/prakashdolsak/2023/04/09/dogs-are-humans-best-friends-could-we-reduce-their-carbon-footprint/?sh=600823f724f2
