Kees van Malssen<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mstdn.social/@compoundchem" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>compoundchem</span></a></span> Interesting to see is that the example triglyceride is POS (Palmitic-Oleic-Stearic), the main component of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/CocoaButter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CocoaButter</span></a>, with only the oleic (mono) unsaturated. To proper polymerise the oil, you need poly-unsaturated (linoleic and even better linolenic acid aka omega-6 and omega-3). <br>Olive oil is mainly omega-9 (oleic acid) and will take ages to polymerise. Best choice is linseed oil.</p>
