#Matrix bestaat niet bekend om zijn zuinige servergebruik. #deltachat en #xmpp zijn dat wel. Bij grote groepen chatgebruikers ook een belangrijk punt. Ik denk niet dat de meeste gebruikers zullen willen gaan betalen voor chat diensten.

Kann nicht erkennen, welche Nachteile Deltachat gegenüber Signal hätte, es sei denn, man vertraut einer Software mehr als einer anderen.

Being a #centralized, #SingleVendor & #SingleProvider solution subject to #CloudAct makes you inherently vulnerable by your own choice and thus trivial to shutdown compared to real #E2EE with #SelfCustody of all the keys and true #decentralization as well as #SelfHosting (i.e. #PGP/MIME [see @delta / #deltaChat et. al.] and #XMPP+#OMEMO [see @monocles / #monoclesChat et. al.]!)
And don't even get me started on you collecting #PII (espechally #PhoneNumbers) for no valid reason, (thus violating #GDPR & #BDSG)...
But yeah, I'll be patient to shout "#ToldYaSo" to your annoying cult of fanboys!
@adbenitez @opensourceopenmind #DeltaChat is federated via email, so #metadata-wise it is #verbose, I think (as #matrix is also verbose, maybe even more).
That's one of the advantages of #signal, that it is quite quiet on #metadata.
I think you could also check #briar, #SimpleXChat, or when it is ready #reticulum-based #LXMF when you just want to have other options and don't care about communicating with a wide audience which is not coming from a hacker bubble.

@triskelion #Telegram "apps" are literally just a normal website opened in a webview, so it has all the problems of using a normal website, they have access to all your data and if the website goes down you lost everything, also for obvious reasons can't be used offline unlike #DeltaChat apps
Dear fans of messenger comparison sports,
How does it factor in that on #deltachat there are many apps that can be used in a chat without requiring a login or even a privacy policy ... And the apps all work like cryptpad but automatically and without requiring any server side hosting?
Editing documents and checklists and calendars are all safely end-to-end encrypted without a server and anyone can write new #webxdc apps permission free.
Which other cross-platform messenger offers this?
