After using the Supernote Manta going back to the Nomad writing experience makes clear how much the Manta is better for me. The surface on the Manta isnt as springy, more paper on a hard smooth surface than paper on a blotter.

I have work on this, today. Very long time to make it work like last time. Some weeks between today and the last time i worked on it. I didn't commit when it seems to work and somehow it doesn't today but not sure what i've changed in between.

Anyway the screen work but too long to update ~12s to change pixels state

I'm happy because it update througt time with lgvl library handling widgets.

I need some more understanding on some part but that's for another day.

The Manta writing experience was great. It has only grown on me. It’s like writing with a smooth fountain pen on very smooth paper. No pressure.

SuperNote tablets are VERY focused on writing and being flexible and self-repairable. I’d love to have a couple other apps on it (mostly Kobo reader), as well as faster keyboard response, but otherwise they are wonderful writing implements.

Wow, the libraries and docs around this #eink display are really lacking. I did get to the point of being able to render text in a custom font, but the Adafruit libraries in #CircuitPython are a pain to work with.

There’s a world in which I could achieve the effect I want if I used a a full-on Pi Zero instead of a Pi Pico, but I am still hoping to keep power to a minimum in order to run off a battery for ~a month.

I might abandon my plans tool use this display for an Oblique Strategies box and look for something better suited to the task.

eInk tablets are still hellis expensive, I see.

I was wondering if I actually had a usecase but what I am sure I don't have is that much money.
