Pendant plusieurs jours, j'ai une mise à jour de l'appli protonmail qui refusait de s'installer sur mon eOS, via AppLounge. J'ai dû désinstaller et réinstaller l'appli…
Deux effets de bord :
- AppLounge bouffait ma batterie (particulièrement visible au réveil avec la batterie qui perdait plus de 10 points alors que tout est coupé ; ceci en lien avec le fait que je viens de voir que Signal consomme aussi pour rien mais AppLounge était pire là)
- AppLounge n'affichait pas les autres mises à jour d'applis, je viens seulement de toutes les avoir d'un coup.

Chez moi sur #Murena #eos ça fonctionne (pas les #notifications, mais la #2FA :
1) ouvrir l'appli #CreditMutuel sur le téléphone
2) aller sur l'ordinateur, se connecter/payer. Si rien ne se passe sur le téléphone : clic sur le nom de l'appareil (sous le message 2FA)
3) évtl. fermer/rouvrir l'application sur le téléphone
Il est rare que je doive répéter les étapes 2&3 plus que 2x.
Sinon, ils vendent un petit boitier générateur de codes, env. 35 € (c'était le prix à l'époque)
Es ist so weit, ein Familienmitglied benötigt ein neues Smartphone.
Das Samsung S7 mit #eos hat jetzt 9 Jahre durchgehalten.
Das neue sollte möglichst klein und kompatibel mit einem #Custom_ROM sein.
Die Entscheidung fiel auf ein Pixel 7a.
Ich werde darauf dann #graphene_os installieren

So I'm currently trying to finally get off my butt and switch to an alternative OS for my smartphone (because fuck Google).
Thing is, since I'm using a Fairphone 3+ (which I plan to keep using until it becomes literally impossible to do so), I'm dealing with the issue that some of the hottest ROMs around aren't available to me. Not a problem, but it does make it more annoying to find useful articles online.
The way I see it, I basically get to pick between #eOS and #LineageOS.
This is where I need some help. I have no experience with either of these, but I do need to be able to get to a usable state within less than half a day. I'm comfortable with OS installs, so I foresee no major issues there.
I would be incredibly greatful if any of you with personal experiences had time to answer some of my questions (for either or both of the OSs):
1. How long can I realistically expect my phone to receive updates?
2. How many common apps should I expect to break?
3. How frequently do updates break core functionality (e.g. calls, WiFi, app installation, push notifications)?
4. How current are the security patches compared to stock?
5. Is there a way to interact with the Google Play store for apps that are only available through it, including paid apps?
Appreciate any help, happy to answer questions if they help give better answers
