The whole #ChatGPT / #GenerativeText discussion reminds me of a thing from Terry Pratchett's #DiscWorld series (Witches Abroad) about the dangers of mirror magic. Given what the models are trained on, it reflects that back - which is why standing between two mirrors is powerful but ultimately harmful.
