#hatch

Yesterday, one chicken hatched, while 2 more chickens hatched today, bringing the total this year to 13. 10 of the chickens were moved to a new, larger location, due to overcrowding. There are 4 eggs left in the incubator. One had to be taken out, as there was no longer any sign of life in it, while one of the 4 remaining eggs is pipping, and may hatch sometime tonight, or tomorrow morning.

For his most recent birthday, my dad got an incubator to raise his own chickens from hatch to henhouse. He's been delighted with the results and having so much fun with his chickens. They keep him busy, and sometimes, the baby chicks keep us laughing... especially this first one with the grump arse glare.

Almost the right chimney hatch. It's the exact type we need, but way smaller.

I did some detective work in the shop and found out the Estonian company making these, alas, they only have that one size, no larger.

The search continues.

Although. These are basically crap. Look at it, thin sheet metal and already rusting in the shop. Maybe worth fitting a better one.

hatch.pypa.ioHatch - HatchModern, extensible Python project management
Continued thread

Yes, I know that #PDM and #Hatch did similar things, but the beauty of uv is that it doesn’t need anything to work. uv is the first and the last thing you have to manually install; heck, it even runs in busybox! It gets rid of the weakest link when it comes to managing Python (namely Python)

Is there a way of building two different Python wheels from the same source code, with one of the wheels not including some specific module/package?

I am using #hatch and pyproject.toml.

I could use two different pyproject.toml files, but it seems that it should be possible in some other way.
