Joyful Street Art (35 Photos)

David Zinn has a special way of making sidewalks and streets feel like magical places. With just chalk, charcoal, and a big imagination, he creates fun characters that seem to come to life. 🔴🔥🔵 A little code project from 2021-ish. I made 2 different-colored versions of this illustration, along with a few little fire frames, then used the angle of the iPad to fade between them. To add the shiny effect, I used a shader to change how reflective it is based on how light the different parts of the image are. Kind of a weird project, but I like how it turned out. (Illustrated in Procreate and coded in Swift Playgrounds on iPad, btw)

Had an awesome time interviewing Tom for #HacksterCafe ! The SPOKE board launches soon on KS: kickstarter.com/projects/tomfo

It's a gorgeous and simple platform for touch-responsive #music instruments, #HIDs, #InteractiveArt pieces, & other interfaces, good for #electronics beginners (similar to MakeyMakey and Bare Conductive Touch Board – we dug into the differences on video). Based on #RaspberryPi #RP2040, it has 27 capacitive sensors w/ indicator LEDs & STEMMA QT / Qwiic! 🤩 mastodon.social/@TomVulpes/113

In the small fishing town of Ísafjörður, Iceland, an exciting development in pedestrian crossing safety has just popped up – almost literally. Speed bumps has been painted that appears to be 3D by way of a cleverly-detailed optical illusion. Not only does the innovative design give foot-travelers the feeling of walking on air, but the 3D painting also gets the attention of drivers, who will be sure to slow down their speed once they spot the seemingly floating ‘zebra stripes.’ […]
