Finally got around to adding a #LinkBlog page with tags on my website: https://abhinavsarkar.net/linkblog. It comes with a central #feed, and tag-wise feeds as well.

RE: "Tiny Robots Can Help Fix Leaky Old Water Pipes Without Having to Dig Up Roads"
So cool! Small-ish Robots living in pipes, cleaning and fixing them from within.
With Pocket being sunsetted (good grief, Mozilla) I switched to Raindrop as my read-it-later service.
Alas – this is a bit of a problem. I’m already using Raindrop to power my link blog (following Sophie Koonin’s example here) and now it is a chaos. Which one is a link I saved to read later? Which one is going to the link blog? (Yes, I know. Folders. But still.)
And maybe even worse: when I move a bookmark from the “read it later” to the “link blog” pile, it retains its timestamp and will show up on my link blog in a different order than I intend it to be.
And yes, I know. I should just install Wallabag somewhere and be done with it. It wouldn’t be too hard to switch the data source for my link blog, either.

RE: "How I Manage My Read Later List"
Sometimes the simplest solution can be the best.

Looking for recommendations on good bookmark managers, as I plan to start sharing what I have in my read it later pile on the blog.

Is there something better than the "Press this" bookmarklet for #wordpress to help running a #linkblog
I want a quick way to add a bit of a comment to a link and post that as its own post on a wordpress instance. (If there is a software that does that better/easier I am willing to consider)
RE: "A weird phrase is plaguing scientific papers – and we traced it back to a glitch in AI training data"
I asked Gemma 3 running locally about "vegetative electron microscopy" and it gave me a super long answer explaining what it is - only that it is nothing but an error in AI data.

It takes a lot of courage to stand up against wrong. Kudos Ibtihal Aboussad! AI should not be used for warfare.
RE: "Please stop externalizing your costs directly into my face"
AI training is controversial at best. If you say AI is trained fair you're either very blind to the reality of things, or very naive - or both. None of the big AI tools are trained ethically, and this example from SourceHut just shows it.
RE: "Pixelfed leaks private posts from other Fediverse instances"
Oh boi. A reminder that privacy in the Fediverse depends a lot on correct protocol implementations on ALL sides.

This is a reply to this post, which is a reply to this original post. Burnout is a hot topic (pun intended) and something close to heart for me.

A superb overview of organising. The article contains a well of knowledge and references, and starts strong with evidence that non-violent revolutions have a higher success rate than violent ones.
