Two things:

1. Tonight's watercolor creature from the book is a manatee!!! 💙

2. I'm super impressed with this Pentel Neo-Sable pointed round brush (size "18") for use with watercolor. Great load capacity (brush can hold water) and excellent sharp point for an *extremely* reasonable price. (Got mine for just USD 6.75 on JetPens.) Also like the squared ends to keep it from rolling off the table. 💜

A friend just sent this photo of a #manatee in Mt Dora lake, not one known for them. Apparently it just scared away a gator.

Much better than the usual grey pictures of blobs or nostrils, this manatee came right up to the dock where they were standing. Grey, blobby and adorable, just under the water. Sea cows. I imagine people have been feeding it

I took this picture of a manatee ten years ago (geeeeez) at Crystal River. It was for a film about Wildlife and Humans interactions. Three Sisters Spring was still open and the US Wildlife and Fish Service had issued me a permit authorizing me to go down to the bottom in apnea. I guess it's forbidden now and I think Three Sisters is close now to protect the manatees ( who are in danger and adorable by the way).
