Is there anyone offering a slippy tile map overlay for Leaflet that has the boundaries of the various sub-country subdivisions and their names in legible on transparent background (so it can be used as an overlay over a bademap, to figure out into which subdivisions points fall)? Things like German counties, German states, German city/township boundaries (all three of, ideally on separate overlay maps that are compatible with each other so the text labels don’t collide if enabling more than one), same for other countries.

OSM Mapnik shows the borders… in tiny dashes hard to see and often hidden by other features. It also shows the names in tiny font along the dashes once you figure out the right set of dashes, but also not everywhere, one has to pan way too much to find it. (It also sometimes displays the names only in scripts I cannot read, Also, WTF Cyrillic cursive, normal Cyrillic is hard enough to read already! So ideally, label in region’s scripts and Latin.)

There used to be "MapSurfer.NET OSM Administrative Boundaries" which was 90% of the job there but is discontinued.
