Are TRRS coiled cables really that expensive to manufacture, or is it a case of "these cables are mostly bought by keyboard geeks who don't hesitate to drop a good amount of cash for this stuff" that makes them overpriced?
If you know of a seller with good quality/price, let me know please! I'm looking for a cable for my Moonlander.
I could save an #IBM model M #keyboard that was about to be sent to the e-waste. It is the dirtiest keyboard I have ever seen But it works and will be cleaned. It is in a good shape, too! #mechanicalkeyboard
Ordered a Preonic Planck 60 key ortholinear #mechanicalkeyboard from aliexpress in the end. Better get the soldering iron ready!
@BigJackBrass
That’s awesome. Made from the same parts and key switches as the keyboard I type on every day!

Since KiCad still does not work with Wayland, I decided to give Horizon EDA a try (https://horizon-eda.org/).
Now, that I shaved a yak by writing a little package for installing Horizon on Gentoo (https://codeberg.org/smeikx/horizon-eda-gentoo), I can first start figuring out how to design circuit boards, and then finally get back to designing my very own keyboard.
The [KYB3R.ORTHO] is finished!
Now with documentation and files:

Some time ago (2-3 years?) I recall seeing a fairly compact 65% mechanical keyboard on here, with something that looked like a rolling encoder. At the time I just thought it looked pretty, but now that I'm looking into mechanical keyboards again I'd love to take a second look. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
(Aside: Mastodon search is horrendous.)
After years of interest in split ergonomic keyboards, I finally bit the bullet and ordered a MoErgo Glove80! Really excited about its ergonomic design, especially the concave key wells and thumb clusters. Hope it arrives soon!
This is my mechanical keyboard I bought from a charity shop. I love it, but do you think I should change the keycaps or just rock the pink? I've included the set I'm looking at that I think will work with the pink base.
Some nice #keyboards albeit not all of them are a #MechanicalKeyboard at #VCFe (Vintage Computer Festival Europa) in #Munich this weekend.
The Mountain Everest Max is a true game-changer for PC gamers!
It’s fully modular: move the numpad, swap switches, control your stream—all in one keyboard. Perfect for gamers & creators who demand more.

I just put a Logitech MX Mouse and Mechanical Mini Keyboard into service with my Mac mini. They are amazing. I didn't realize how much I needed a mechanical keyboard again. It is like a soft pillow for my fingies.
The amount of buttons on this mouse are insane, the default functions were very well thought out and integrate very well with macOS.
I have a bad case of tennis elbow and I'm hoping these will help!
Switches installed… Now I just have to wire it all up. #mechanicalkeyboard #mechkb #keyboard #olkb #ortholinear #cyberdeck #3dprinting #maker #diy
