Beautiful #dream last night. I was lost, floating in a calm ocean, no land in sight. A dolphin - one of my spirit animals - came to save me.

It floated underneath, nudging me onto my stomach, pointing me to the right, hovering its fin beneath my hands. I wrapped my hands around the fin - slippery, hard to hold.

That is all. It felt like I was eventually rescued. I woke up, told myself: "Remember this, it's important." Interpretations welcome! 🙏💕

Welcome Aboard

I am a captain on gray waters.

☔️ I hold space for my passengers as they travel. Space to relax, space to decompress, space to rest, space to talk it out. There is a freedom in radical candor with a stranger, knowing they will never intrude on your life again let's you feel free to tell them anything.

I am a captain, 🌎 I have been to many places and seen many things, I can relate to my riders if they need an ear or advice. I have a different perspective than those whose life is not the sea, those who go about complacent of the danger they are engaged in. Those who rush with single-minded tunnel vision from place to place, seeing nothing of the space in between, caring nothing for the lives in between.

I am a captain, ⚓️ I am responsible for my ship and the damage it could do to others. I am responsible for my passengers and the harm that could befall them if the ship were to crash, and ultimately, I am responsible for the pain to my loved ones if I were to die.

I am a captain, 🌊 my life is the [asphalt] sea. It's where I find my fortune and where I spend a large portion of my life. I respect her power and the danger I am in as I sail. I am vigilant because I know others are not, and they will take me down if my mind drifts away.

I am a captain, ⛵️ my ship is my fortune, my companion, my protectoin from the unforgiving waves. I name her, maintain her, talk to her, treat her with care. If I die at sea I will go down with my ship.

🚕 I am a professional driver with Uber 8-10 hours per day, 6 days per week. I often say, "Welcome Aboard," when someone gets in. I have a different perspective from those who engage with the road as a neusence between their job and home, something to be rushed through. I must treat the road as a hostile ocean where no one is paying attention or I might not make it home bc of someone else's carelessness and haste.

I am a captain on gray waters 🛣🌊, welcome aboard. 🚕⛵

More memories of #Kanzi

'One of Pruetz’s favorite pieces of Kanzi lore, she added, was a story about him using two of his symbols to describe a frightening beaver he discovered in his new outdoor habitat in Iowa. “He combined the symbols for ‘water’ and ‘gorilla,’ the latter referred to something scary in his world, and I always think of beavers ... as water gorillas now,” she wrote.'

Kanzi the bonobo gazes into the camera
Scientific American · Kanzi the Bonobo, Who Learned Language and Made Stone Tools, Dies at Age 44By Kate Wong

Last year, we had to remove a few trees (it hurt but they were a danger to us and our neighbors). The removal wrecked the yard so they brought some more soil. And as part of turning up that soil, they must've scattered many #crocus bulbs. My yard has 50 or more clusters bursting forth.

There's a #metaphor in this somewhere.

MAGA Mike Johnson was on FOX talking about the US economy and stuttered through the following statement:

"The adults are back in the room, and we're going to turn this economy around. We need a little runway to do it... I keep using this metaphor of an aircraft carrier, you know, it took decades to get into the mess that we're in. You don't turn an aircraft carrier on a dime, but you need miles of open ocean to do it"

Given his position in the government, I am sure he should know more about US Aircraft carriers. They can turn on a dime, and what's more, even at 30 knots they don't need miles of open ocean to turn, they are almost as nimble as a Seadoo when they want to be!

The USS Abraham Lincoln has a message for your shitty metaphor, Mike.

Met this elder fellow once or twice, who had problems with anger and impulse control.

American fellow who'd rant "I'll keep you safe!", wildly waving a handgun. Whoa.

One time, riding in van, arguing with wife driving, grandkids in back, he get angry, reach over to shifter, throw it in Park!

Moving car!

Clank!

Wheels lock, van spin out, nobody hurt, but what-if?

What grandpa doing?

...

Like that. America like that now.

We scream in back of van, crash imminent.
